Kentucky Lights Up The Streets!
Last night was the perfect example of what sports in America should be about! Although the Kentucky Wildcats won a game that was barely competitive or entertaining, their fans sure as hell made up for it. As the clock ran down, and the Wildcats began celebrating on the floor of the Superdome in New Orleans, the real party started in the beautiful city of Lexington, Kentucky. For the second time in three nights, the members of Wildcat nation celebrated as we all should when our teams win a championship…they burned a hell of a lot of couches!!! .If you thought Anthony Davis filled up the stat sheet with his 6 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in his 36 minutes, wait until you hear what the Kentucky fans were able to pull off. In the couple hours after the game, they were able to get 15,000 people to join in on the riots! Dozens of these class acts were arrested in the celebration. Fire officials estimated that there were 40 fires ignited on the streets, including more couches, mattresses, piles of garbage and even a car! Man, do these people know how to have a good time! However, there was only one person shot and they survived, which was a bit of a disappointment to the Kentucky faithful, as real Wildcat fans expected a better death toll for a NCAA Final Four victory!
One other disappointing thing about this celebration is that Kentucky showed just a few days earlier that they could even do better! After their dramatic victory in the Final Four round against Louisville, the fans were flipping cars, which is exactly what I would have expected last night. Hopefully the next time around, the fans can build their way up to the final celebration, which should always be during a championship game. Check out the video above, but please try not to be too disappointed that you missed out on a chance to take part in this joy that is so vital to the fabric of American Sports. Lets pray for a world in which we can all one day light our furniture on fire, streak across the street, and shoot an unarmed, innocent man in the shoulder, all because our favorite team scored more points than the opposition!
Is your tongue hurting your cheek?

This is why I wanted Ohio State to win it all. Their riots have always been impressive, often because of the participation of non-student townies that would get the fires started and keep the riot moving, usually one step ahead of the out numbered Columbus PD and the drunken OSU fratboys. I’ll give Kentucky props for the gunplay though. Not sure if there was any looting. Usually need a pro championship for that. Bigger, more diverse fan base. Vancouver was a good one for that.
